Overview
The Rupashree Prakalpa 2026 is a landmark social welfare scheme launched by the West Bengal Government to provide financial support to economically backward families for the marriage of their adult daughters. This initiative prevents child marriage and relieves families from borrowing money at high interest rates.

Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant (bride) must be a resident of West Bengal and at least 18 years old at the time of marriage.
- The prospective groom must be at least 21 years old.
- The annual family income of the applicant must not exceed ₹1.5 lakh.
- The applicant must not be a beneficiary of any other similar government marriage grant.

How to Apply
Applicants need to fill out the Rupashree application form and submit it to the local Block Development Officer (BDO), Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO), or Municipal Office at least 30 to 60 days before the scheduled date of marriage. Once verified, the funds are deposited directly into the applicant's account before the wedding day.
Status Check
Applicants can visit their local BDO/SDO office or use the official online portal to check the status of their application using their tracking ID.
