Overview

The Kanyashree Prakalpa 2026 is a United Nations award-winning conditional cash transfer scheme introduced by the West Bengal Government. Its primary goal is to improve the life and status of girls by incentivizing continued education and delaying their marriages until they reach the legal age of 18.

Key Benefits & Amount

The scheme has two major components:

  • K1 (Annual Scholarship): An annual grant of ₹1,000 is given to girls aged 13 to 18 years (studying in Class 8 to 12).
  • K2 (One-Time Grant): A one-time grant of ₹25,000 is given to girls when they turn 18, provided they are unmarried and continuing their education or enrolled in a vocational/sports program.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be a resident of West Bengal.
  • Must be unmarried.
  • Must be enrolled in a recognized school or educational institution.
  • For K1, age must be between 13 and 18 years. For K2, age must be exactly between 18 and 19 years.

Required Documents

  • Birth Certificate or Age Proof.
  • Unmarried Declaration (signed by parents).
  • Bank Account details in the name of the applicant.
  • Recent Passport-sized Photographs.

How to Apply

Eligible girls can collect the application forms directly from their respective schools or colleges. After filling out the form and attaching the necessary documents, it must be submitted back to the Head of the Institution. The institution will then upload the details to the Kanyashree portal.

Status Check

Applicants can track their application status on the official Kanyashree portal by entering their Form ID/Application ID and Date of Birth.
