Kanyashree Prakalpa (কন্যাশ্রী প্রকল্প) is a flagship scheme by the West Bengal government focusing on improving the life and status of adolescent girls by incentivizing them to stay in school and delaying marriage until at least age 18.

The scheme has received United Nations Public Service Award for its tremendous success in empowering adolescent girls in West Bengal.
Key Benefits & Amount
💰
K1 (Annual Scholarship): ₹1,000
Paid every year to girls between 13 and 18 years old to help cover educational expenses.
🎓
K2 (One-Time Grant): ₹25,000
A lump-sum payment of ₹25,000 paid when a girl turns 18, provided she is still unmarried and pursuing education.
Who is Eligible?
You must fulfill ALL of these conditions:
Must be a permanent resident of West Bengal.
Must be strictly unmarried.
Total family income must not exceed ₹1,20,000 per year (waived for specially-abled).
Regularly attending a government-recognized educational institution.
